SXSW Day 9 Photos: 4 Bands and 1 Movie

Bike Zoo, four bands and a movie.

Guy on bike outside the Long Center – took it upside down but something corrected it.
Synth rock pop group Night Drive playing the free stage at SXSW.  Not too many people, but you could hear it from the lawn without going in.

Q & A with director Olivia Newman as the credits roll for First Match, narrative film audience award winner.   Moving picture about a high school foster girl who gets on the boys varsity wrestling team to channel her emotions while trying to reconnect with her paroled amd shady dad.

First Match poster.  Movie is out on Netflix on March 30th.  Four stars from A Dude Abikes!

Jon Blondell, legendary jazz trombonist with Victoria from Uruguay on killer flute and vocals.

Jon Blondell – not a great pic but I like the graininess in a jazz club vibe.
Ori Dagan is a great baritone jazz singer and scatter extraordinaire – and funny  –  from Israel living in Canada of Hungarian roots. Groovy George Benson-like guitar and bassist Brandi was boss – high voice buy super strong handshake grip!

Chihiro Yamazaki & Route 14 Band. Smokin’ trumpet, guest vocals, and incredible bass, drum and piano.
